I purchased this gun for Cowboy Action Shooting in 45 Colt. Winchester has the reputation of having a very smooth action right out of the box, and it did not disappoint. There are other reproductions of the 1873, but you will spend additional money to smooth the action out. The quality and workmanship of the Winchester made by Miruko is excellent. The advice given to me was; ” Winchesters are very difficult to find. If you find one grab it.” Thank you Midway for having this. I waited almost a year to find one at reasonable price.
